Grades and titles
Every career has five titles. The first four each have four grades. You are hired at grade I of the first title with 50% performance. Each time your performance reaches 100%, one of two things happens:
- You're below grade IV: you go up a grade. Pay rises a little and performance resets to 60%.
- You're at grade IV: you're promoted to the next title, if you meet its targets. Performance resets to 45%, you get the "Promoted!" moodlet and 3 blessings.

On top of 100% performance at grade IV, each step needs:

The board interview
The final step to the top title goes through a board interview. If it doesn't go your way, the board sees you again
three days later.
Skill levels by career
Most careers use 1 / 3 / 5 / 7 for their four promotions. These are different:

How to get promoted faster
- Train the skill early. Skill is usually the slowest target. Skills cap at level 10 and each level takes longer than the last.

FAQ
Why am I not getting promoted in Lagos Life?
At grade IV, 100% performance only promotes you if you also meet the step’s skill level, shift count, Lagos Rep level and days-in-title. When something is missing, your boss tells you exactly what: “Oga is happy with you. Before [title]: …”.
How do I raise performance at work?
Go to work with your needs high and say yes to the tasks Oga gives you during the shift. Traits like Hustler, the Hustle Juice reward and a UNILAG course certificate (+15%) all boost it.
What is Lagos Rep?
Your reputation level. You raise it with daily missions (“Today’s Hustle”) and streaks. Promotions from level 3 onward need Rep 3, 6 and 10.
